Awardssss.....

Honestly, it amazes me how many of you think I'm worthy of receiving these things. 

Especially one for great doll photography.

Like, what?

You're nominating the girl who sat upstairs in the bathroom to get dark shots of Elizabeth for the AB/AP photo-shoot? 

Right. 

Okay.

That aside, all these nominations really do mean a lot to me, and though it takes me a while to get through them (I'm a lazy bum who honestly spends majority of her time watching Amazingphil videos and listening to FOB) I'm really thankful for everybody who nominates me.

Also, I'm pretty horrible at keeping tabs on these, so if you nominated me and I didn't do the questions, please know that I'm not ignoring you, I'm just really bad at bookmarking who has done what. If I missed you, just drop me a comment saying,"Hey doofus, I nominated you ages ago," so I can promptly scream and edit this post.

I honestly don't know what to do for a photography tip. I guess if you're looking to improve what you do, do some research on your camera and it's capabilities. Also, take time to look at other's pictures and see how they do. Don't feel shy to ask somebody about their camera, how they got their lighting like that, etc. =)

And now for the questions...

Shelby-Grace's Questions:

1.) Which doll is next on your wishlist?
I'm really interested in Grace at the moment, as well as two JLY (I'm sorry but I always refer to them as this; it's a habit) dolls, but I'm fairly satisfied with the dolls that I have at the moment. =)

2.) What camera do you use?

 Sony DSC-HX1. It's kind of like a camera just below DSLR's. It's pretty nice, & I like what it does. I am hoping to be able to myself a Canon Rebel at some point though. 

3.) If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?

England.

4.) When did you start taking doll pictures?

I believe I started around 2011...? 

I know I started to take (horrible) pictures around then because I entered them into Doll Diaries' photo contests they had around that time.
Or was it 2011? 

...

Whenever MK was the girl of the year that's when I started. xD

5.) Who was your first doll?

My precious little Lissie was my first doll. ^-^

1. Do you like Fedoras? *cough*xD

Yes I do. 

Also, I know you give me these questions just to make me squirm and I don't appreciate it. xD

2. Lee pace or Patrick stump?

Okay, seriously?

*tugs on hair* 

You know what? 

I'll take my dorky little Pat. You can keep Lee. xD

3. What are a few of your current obsessions?

Amazingphil, Danisnotonfire, The Luna Chronicles by Marissa Meyer, Patrick Stump, Little House on the Prairie show (It is so sad how addicted I am to this but the show is just amazing.)

4. Sweat pants or jeans?

Jeans, only because I have enough self-consciousness to inform me that I'm not wearing sweat pants anywhere public. xD

5. How often do you run into random people at the store(or anywhere for that matter)?

Okay, the last two times I've been the orthodontist to get my braces tightened, I have run into two people from my old school and it's scaring me. If it happens again I'm going to lose it.

MK, no question about it. xD 

Clara's also really photogenic as well, but I just always find I have more fun when McKenna's in front of the camera. 

3.) Do you like indoor photography better, or outdoor? 

Indoor, because that way I don't have to haul myself and gear outdoors. xD 

No but honestly, I don't know which I prefer. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. 

4.) Which season is your favorite to take photos of your dolls? (Sorry if that was confusing)

Fall and spring, because those are my two favorite seasons and the weather is usually always nice at that time. ^-^

The Questions:
1.) What's your favorite book series?
I'm currently obsessed with The Lunar Chronicles right now. Cinder was amazing, and Scarlet is doubly so.
Also really ecstatic because I picked up the new Heirs book yesterday and it's amazing. <3

2.) Is you hair curly, straight, or wavy?
I'm laughing because my mom and I always disagree on what my hair is. She says wavy, but my hair does indeed form in ringlets. Of course it's more wavy than curly after a few days but I'll still fight and say curly. xD

3.) Are you totally obsessed with Polaroids like I am?
I wouldn't say obsessed, but I do like Polaroids and wouldn't mind getting one someday.

4.) Do you know how to French braid?
Sort of... I can only do it on Lissie, and certainly not on my own hair.

5.) What blog that you follow has your favorite design?

We all know I'm a big freaking fangirl, and that the things I like often influence what I do with my dolls. 

So of course, since the new Fall Out Boy album comes out today, you all get to sit through a lyric photo-shoot with lyrics from all the new songs.

Dollhouse Tour!

Hey guys! 

Sorry this is up so late. I planned on having it up yesterday but things went a bit wack.

Fall Out Boy decided to stream all of their new songs throughout the day, & I spent the afternoon in my room bundled up with a blanket watching videos and listening to their new music.

Oops?

The set-up was as is above. xD

Anyways, I apologize for the odd lighting in some of the house pictures. I'm still trying to work out how to get good lighting within each room. :}

But let's get started! 

An overview of the whole thing. I'll be going top to bottom; there's the attic, two bedrooms, and then on the bottom I've done a kitchen/dining room, and a living room. 

The attic space is shared by MK & Marie. At first, I was going to have Saige be up here with McKenna but then I realized I needed somewhere for Marie's piano to go. 

And here it is. I've put it in the corner, kind of shoved back so I still have a lot of room. 

Next to the piano and Marie's bed I made a little reading area. Basically just a blanket and pillow on the floor, but it's works. xD

Marie's bed is closest to the piano and keeps in theme with her kind of girly attitude. Somehow she claimed both of the mini dolls... don't know how that happened. :3

Now that there's a ton of room for the gals to have designated rooms, I've given most everybody pets. Meatloaf will be MK's dog, although I'm sure Marie will fondle over him as well. =)

Between the two beds there's a nightstand, which is just an old AG box I painted white with acrylic paint. I think it looks fairly nice; it's at least a surface to put things on. 

And the last piece of furniture in the room is MK's bed. She's got two random stuffed animals that I've garnered over the years, and a handsewn blue pillow. 

And then of course, somebody had to have a little wall of their own. It was gifted to MK, who, as I've said before, is the most like me. =)

Moving down a level, the left bedroom belongs to Clara & Finley. Probably really odd to have them share a room, but I wanted both of them in the house and this was the only way I could work out how to do that. :}

Clara's bed is kind of plain, until I break out the felt and stuffing to make a few make-shift pillows and things. She's got a stuffed animal that I bought, which was originally a Christmas ornament. I just cut the loop off and viola! xD

One of the Christmas gifts I forget to mention was Kit's desk. I immediately knew that the desk would go to Clara; with her fascination of historical things. 

And Pepper has now become Clara's pet. =)

Finley's bed is to the right of the desk, and covered in all the faux furs from Kaya's bedroll set. I think it looks boy-ish enough.

Might have to cover the pink walls on his side though. xD

And of course, Toasty goes to Finley. ^_^

The next bedroom is reserved for the twins and Saige. 

I've used the trundle bed for the twins.

When it's pulled out there's absolutely no floor space left so I choose to leave it pushed in, unless it's needed out for a story or something. 

I slid an AG box in the corner and covered it with what is actually a pillowcase to make Saige's bed/a window bench area. 

There's pillows, and dolls on the window bench, along with some books and magazines. =)

And moving directly down a level, we have the living room! 

I used the Journey Girl's set to make an area for watching T.V. 

The remote and DVD player are handmade by myself. :3

I put Cecile's desk in the corner of the room, and currently the only thing residing on it are the Owl City CD's I made. 

And the last room is the dining area/kitchen. Of course, Willow's in it. xD

Caroline's dining set (Can't remember what the set is actually called-sorry.) is to the left, and has the whole Gingerbread making ensemble on it. Probably time to put it away since it's now January 14th but oh well. xD

I cut a large AG box in half and painted it white with acrylic paint to make a kitchen counter. 

There's a lot of things from miscellaneous places on it. 

And beside the counter I've hung the family's aprons and put the trash bin I picked up at the Dollar Tree a while back. 

And that's it!!!

50 Follower Thank You & Photo-Shoot

I don't even have any words.

50 living, breathing people have followed me because they like what I do.

Honestly, I don't know if I deserve it.

I haven't exactly been an avid poster these last few weeks, and I apologize for that. 

I sincerely want to thank each and every one of you for being so kind, encouraging, & supporting people. 

I can't tell you how many times one of you has made me smile because of one of your comments. 

You're like a big family to me, and I am so grateful for all of you.

As a thank you, I have some pictures of Marie-Grace that I took. 

I'm not really sure what I/she was doing but I think they turned out visually interesting. Different, at the least. =)
