Christmas Recap

In the spirit of everybody doing Haul Posts, I thought that I'd do the same. Although the word haul always seemed to sound a bit odd for me when paired with Christmas so... I don't know. Recap is what I'm calling mine and that's that.

And as everybody else does, there's a quick disclaimer I must make.

In a sense, yes I am a bit spoiled.

I am spoiled by a wonderful grandmother who goes a tad overboard for Christmas.

That said, yes, I did receive quite a lot of AG clothes, but this is the one time of the year where I do. If there is anything I get during the year it's usually bought with my own money I've saved up.

Anyways. Let's get started. =)

Lovely Charlie was begging for pictures, so she donned a Santa hat and joined me.

She's wearing Isabelle's Coral Sweater which I received from my grandma. It's adorable. ^_^

My parents got me Addy's boots from the Cyber Monday Sale and I love them. Boots are literally all the girls wear. xD

I was so shocked and happy to open up the AG set w/ the gingerbread house. I'd been hoping for the thing as long as it had been out and I was so excited to finally have it. The santa hat is arguably one of the best things in it. xD

Enough of what Charlie's wearing though. Let's get to the other stuff. =)

I received the Jewel Highlights & Sparkly Pick from my grandmother. I'm really excited to use the highlights in a photo-shoot with MK. Colored hair is her kind of thing. ;)

I'm happy to have gotten another pair of glasses; Charlie was the only girl with them. These will go to Elizabeth at the moment. I'm still undecided who will permanently wear them.

I received a few of Isabelle's mix and match stuff, along with the Coral Sweater.
I'd wanted her tutu after seeing a post on The Doll Wardrobe about how to modernize Isabelle's collection... I'll edit in the link in a bit.

Isabelle's Scrunch Pants are something I like more than I thought I would. The dark purple is a seriously gorgeous color.

I'll admit, I dismissed a lot of Isabelle's collection originally, but the metallic dress is something I'm really happy I got. It looks gorgeous, although I don't really care for the purple tights. xD

Rebecca's Holiday Dress is so freaking gorgeous.

I can't stress that fact enough.

If you have the chance to get it; you must. It's just so pretty. And soft. ;)

The Trail Accessories are really fun. I'm not really a fan of the bright, eccentric colors, but I love the items themselves and think they'll be handy for Abditus Orbis. =)

The Coconut Cutie outfit was one I'd really ogled over & I just love it. <3

You know how everybody seems to have like enough pajamas for all their dolls, as well as swimsuits? They seem like such essential things, but gosh, I'm horrible at having enough for everybody. xD

The Petal & Plaid PJ's are adorable, and the pants are so satiny. ^_^

A lot of people dismissed this outfit because it was all white, but I myself love it. It's really cute, and great for pairing with other things.

I'm a person who's generally not a fan of purple/pink things, so I'm shocked at how much I like this. The top is adorable, & I love the fringed boots.

This dress is gorgeous and that's pretty much all I have to say. xD

My mom & I have a lot of fun playing silly little rounds of tennis at the local school courts, so I'm really excited to have a tennis outfit for the gals. =)

This is the one and only swimsuit I own, and I can't help but laugh at that fact. Guess the girls just aren't avid swimmers. ;)

I'm not really sure why I put this on my wishlist; none of the girls do ballet, but I'm still really excited to have it. The black & gold theme is seriously pretty to me, and I can think of a few photo-shoots the parts in this might be good for.

Julie's Coat. Is. SO. FREAKING. SOFT.

I've really got a thing for dark shades of purple at the moment because of Clara. She looks wonderful in purple and I can't help but admire the color a bit more now.

My parents managed to get me Rebecca's old accessories during the Cyber Monday Sale and I love this. The shawl is so pretty, and once again, I think it'll be great for photos. =)

The last thing is the I Love Pets Pajamas.

I think I finally have enough sets of pajamas for all my dolls.

Hallelujah. xD

But the really big gift this year was...

A dollhouse!

Oy, I was so shocked at this, among other things. My dad was kind enough to put it together for me the day of Christmas, and I am so happy to have a wonderful space to keep the dolls.

And that was pretty much everything I received for Christmas. There's a few other big, non-AG things, but I'll post about that stuff on The Halfling Writer. =)

And enjoy a few more pictures of Charlie.

Also, can I note that I felt incredibly stupid after taking all of these pictures? I'd totally forgotten that the sweater had finger holes and I spent like five minutes after I'd realized it trying to re-arrange the sleeves to fit Charlie's thumbs through the holes. >_<

*cough*

Thanks for reading guys.

Let me know if you want an in-depth review on anything, or photos of a doll wearing a specific thing. I'd gladly take some. =)

Subject: Town Border

Hello Ms. Rosanna,

I just received your email concerning your questions about the town border and the perimeter fence around it. I’m unsure as to why you are so fascinated with it, but I do have some answers for you.

There are notes of the wall being there from back in the late 1600’s. Old journals have been found from long deceased members of the founding family of this town, and it seems even back then there was a fence up, albeit a wooden one.

Town rules state that no person may go near the gate located on the S.W. edge of town. Section C, Line 21 states, ”Any person suspected of trespassing on the grounds near the border or attempting to pass beyond the perimeter will be prosecuted and fined.”

We have some books here at the museum that concern more about the town’s history. Perhaps you would find more information about the town border within them.

Regards,

C.J.
Manager of Louis National History Museum

Rosanna sat on her bed, eyes skimming over the paper of the email she had printed out. She was unsure of how many times she had read the thing, scouring over the printed words; grasping for any attainable information that hadn't been directly said.

It'd been nearly a week since Rosanna had come to Aunt Shelly's. Rosanna had spent every hour of the past 168 ones finding out as much as she could about the town. She'd gathered surprisingly little, considering she'd asked townsfolk everywhere she went and checked out nearly every book on the town at the library.

Rosanna grunted and tossed aside the letter in mild disgust, as she turned to her laptop. She opened her email, typed a hurried thank you email to C.J., and then scrolled through her bookmarked sites.

Rosanna didn't know why she was obsessed with the perimeter and the town history. She blamed it on her mother's sense of curiosity that she had inherited. But if she was honest with herself, she felt drawn to the wall. Drawn to know what laid behind the cordoned off area around town.

During the week, Rosanna had struggled with herself, trying to stop what she was doing and just relax. How could she, though? Her mother was miles away, her father was dead, and now she was struggling with an obsession over a stupid wall.

There was only one way Rosanna could think of that might soothe her obsession. It could get her fined and prosecuted, but she figured her mental health was far more important in this case. Plus, she'd pay for the fines herself if she had to. That was, if she got caught.

With a sigh, Rosanna slid off of her bed. She left the room, thoughts in a tangled mess.

********

Rosanna returned to her room 20 minutes later, her old hiking backpack and supplies in her hands. She felt stupid, incredibly so. But she'd made up her mind. She was going to go to the wall, venture beyond it, and return to Aunt Shelly's in a few days. There was nothing else Rosanna could do to soothe her frenzied brain.

Rosanna began to slip supplies into her backpack. Hiking had been a favorite past time of hers, when her father was still alive. It'd been a quiet, bonding time for them; done each weekend. Rosanna had looked forward to each Saturday.

Now, she hated Saturdays. The pain was all too harsh on those days.

Rosanna blinked back tears, and continued to shove bags of fruit and grains in her bag.

"What. Are. You. Doing?!"

Rosanna spun, to see Vega standing at the edge of her bed. She was painfully aware of everything lying on top of her bed sheets.

"I'm... going on a hike." Rosanna mumbled lamely.

Rosanna watched as Vega surveyed the things on her bed, her eyes narrowing as they drifted over the paper near the edge.

"What are you doing, Rosanna?!" Vega reiterated, and Rosanna rubbed at her arm, fingers sliding over her skin that was prickled with goosebumps.

"Here." She muttered, grabbing the paper and holding it out to Vega.

Vega was quiet as she read through the email, eyes growing wider with each paragraph further she got. When she was done, she blinked twice, shook her head as if her ears were clogged with water, and handed the paper back to Rosanna without uttering a word.

Rosanna slipped the paper quickly under her pile of clothes, in fear that Aunt Shelly would be next to come inside and see everything.

Still not speaking, Vega reached for Rosanna's backpack and peered inside, eyes sliding over the contents. She frowned deeply, and then straightened.

"Rosanna," She murmured, eyes closed as if talking pained her. "You are insane, if you're doing what I think you are."

"I can't just-"

"I wasn't finished talking!" Vega snapped, and Rosanna pressed her lips firmly together into a straight, hurtful line.

Vega gave a quiet sigh, and then continued.

"If the wall is where you're going, you cannot go alone. Nor can you go with so little provisions. It's folly to think that you can survive with what little you've packed, and how long you may likely be gone."

Rosanna crossed her arms, staring at the impudent pre-teen before her, who was acting far more mature than she actually was.

"So what are you suggesting I do, then?" Rosanna asked.

Vega turned and began to walk out of Rosanna's room. There was no answer, until she reached the edge of the room.

"I'm suggesting that you pack more supplies."

A pause. Vega remained with her back to Rosanna.

"And that you take me with you."

With that, Vega left the room, leaving Rosanna gazing blankly at where she'd been.

You guys have no idea how much of a relief it is to get this sucker up.

I've had the pictures for ages.

I was going to do this on Christmas as my present to you all, but with all the festivities, the notion left my mind. So...

Merry belated Christmas? xD

Hope you enjoyed.

Episodes should be flowing in hopefully at least once a week, maybe once every two weeks. Either way, it'll certainly be quicker than the wait between Ep. 1 & Ep. 2.

Have a wonderful day guys. =)

Bringing Charlie & MK Some Christmas Spirit

Elizabeth and I stood silently, staring at the huddled figure in front of us. We were in the midst of getting our dresses and everything in order for Christmas. But our sister before us had sidetracked us.

McKenna was swathed in Kaya's faux bear fur blanket, hair mussed. Charlie and her had been in a miserable funk after seeing the last Hobbit movie a few days back.

I watched MK as she walked slowly over to the dining table, and grabbed a handful of candy canes. I stared shocked at her hair which was tangled and knotted. MK never allowed her hair to get like that.

We watched as MK shuffled back to her room in tense silence.

"We have to do something. It's 3 days until Christmas and they've done nothing!" I exclaimed to Felicity as soon as MK had joined Charlie back in what we'd dubbed,"The Cave of Despair."
"Agreed," Felicity replied.

"What exactly do you intend to do? Whack them upside the head with a candy cane and watch as they turn festive? And start dancing around the tree singing Christmas carols?" Elizabeth said sarcastically.
I rolled my eyes.
"No. But I can at least get them out of their room."

I walked to The Cave of Despair, and slid open the door to the room, surveying the messy room.

Charlie was passed out on her bed, glasses barely in her grasp.

MK was sitting on the piano bench, blanket on her head as she was surrounded by stuffed animals Charlie had thrown off the bed in her discomfort.

I stepped into the room and pulled the blanket off of MK's head. She hissed at me, and I frowned.
"Come on. Get up. We've got stuff to do."

MK turned away from me, and I sighed. I tossed the blanket across the room and then groaned, pulling MK up off of the bench.

"Out you go!" I cried, shoving her squealing toward the living room with Elizabeth and Felicity.

I then turned to Charlie, who was swaddled under a thick blanket.

I quickly yanked the blanket off of her.

"What's the big idea?" She groaned, turning to look at me.

She sat up and frowned.
"Leave me alone." She muttered.

"Nope." I replied, handing Charlie her glasses.
Charlie sighed, and slipped the yellow frames on.

I gently grabbed Charlie's wrist, helping her slide off of the bed.
"What now?" She asked, and I smiled lightly.

"Saige! What are you doing?!"
"Helping," I replied, pushing Charlie out of the room.

Elizabeth and Felicity had wrangled MK into a chair, and I quickly set to work brushing out her hair. Felicity gussied up Charlie, humming Christmas songs as she went.

It didn't take long to get Charlie into the spirit of things. She brushed her hair, pushed her glasses firmly on her face, and let Elizabeth pick out her Christmas dress for her.
MK was still a little dazed, but it worked out well enough because...

We managed to get her into a dress.
A purple dress.
She must still be a little out of it because we haven't heard any condescending comment.
We figure she'll snap out of it eventually and burn the garment but for now, we've gotten Charlie back into the Christmas mood.
We're sure MK will follow. =)

We hope to get our Christmas pictures up. They're not "traditional" per-say and we'd love to share them with you all.

Have a wonderful day guys. ^_^

Until next time,
