It was a beautiful, wonderful, nice, fall day. Everything was just perfect; a day to relax, get the school lessons done for the day, and just enjoy fall.
Y'know.
If there had been silence.
"Willow is my coffee ready yet?!" Felicity asked, agitated, as she came up to the dining table.
I, Cecile, stood in the background, already dreading what was going to ensue.
"No, it's not ready Felicity." Willow replied with a sigh, flipping slowly through a recipe book.
"What do you mean it's not ready?! I've been waiting for 10 minutes!"
Willow stopped flipping through her cookbook. "I cook 7 days a week for 9 gals; if you want your coffee so fast, you can dang make it yourself!"
McKenna snorted from her position on her bed, her fingers never once slowing as she typed.
"Nine." She repeated.
"What?" Saige asked, pausing in her game with Caroline and her stuffed animal she had dubbed Peggy the Pegasus.
"Oh, nothing." MK replied,
The attention was drawn back to the dining table as Marie-Grace put a comforting hand on Felicity's shoulder.
"I'll make your coffee so Willow can continue with what she's doing."
Marie, bless her heart, moved past Lissie and began to make her coffee, although she had to use Charlie's tea set to do so. I couldn't help but smile for a second. Marie and I are the closest out of our sisters, and she's the sweetest thing.
I watched Marie for a while, and then groaned as I heard MK and Lissie begin to bicker. In our big family, there's almost always somebody fighting.
There had to be a way to get away from the noise. Suddenly, an idea hit me.
I rushed to the closet where we kept our blankets and things, and then hiked to Adaline's room down the hall.
I grabbed some of Adi's books (dang those things are heavy!) and then piled everything on the floor in front of me. I knew exactly what I wanted, and I quickly set to work.
I stacked the book on top of each other, not an easy feat I might add, and then pushed them to where I wanted them. Even as I worked I could hear raised voices from down the hall. I rolled my eyes.
I then arranged on top the thing that usually holds Kaya's Native American shield. Hope she doesn't mind that I borrowed it. Not that she uses it much anyways.
I threw the blanket on top of the wooden support, and then put down the furry rug.
I settled down on it and sighed. Just perfect.
I drew the sheet over myself and closed my eyes in bliss. No noise penetrated through the blanket. It was mind-numbingly quiet.
Just perfect.
"Fort Peace & Quiet; how I love you so."
I settled back and closed my eyes, soon drifting off to sleep. The best thing was that there was no noise. What. So. Ever.

"Felicity, Willow... Where's Cecile?!"
Hope you guys enjoyed. I know I certainly relished my stay in the fort. :)
That fort is super clever :) I hope Cecile continues to get her peace and quiet!
