I walked up the front door of the house, hoping that this was indeed the right one. I had already gone to another by accident... I'd woken up an elderly lady from her slumber and didn't want a repeat of that.
I knocked on the door, stomach churning. I didn't know what to expect, and this place was so different from my past home.
A girl in a black beanie hat opened the door, and she gaped at me.
She shoved me roughly inside, so harshly that I fell on the floor. She let out a strangled scream as she shut the door.
I heard her footsteps patter away as she ran down the hall.
I pushed myself up and sat on the floor; baffled.
I jetted down the hall, moving quickly past the room where us gals resided.
I made my way into Adi's room, trying not to have a panic attack as I slid her closet door open.
I had known he was coming.
Consider me unmoral, but I constantly snoop through Adi's computer, checking for anything out of the ordinary pertaining to our family. I had been the only one to know that Willow was going to come last year, and I had known that he was coming. I didn't know anything about him, except that it had been a weird trade of sorts; getting him here for some reason was not easy.
I looked approvingly at Adi's closet. It'd be perfect for hiding him, while I thought of a plan.
I stood in the entry hall, unsure of what to do. I knew at least that I had a sister, although I wasn't sure the girl in the beanie was going to be all that great. I rubbed my arm where she had shoved me. Darn, she was strong!
Suddenly, another girl appeared, a red-head with yellow glasses. She didn't notice me at first until she was about two feet away.
Her gaze focused on me, and her eyebrows furrowed.
"Can I... help you? How did you... who are you?!"
"I'm-" I started.
"NOPE!" The girl in the beanie yelled, coming back into view.
"No! No talking, no fraternizing, no nothing! Not until we're somewhere safe."
The blonde girl pushed the red-head and I down the hall, quickly past another room, and toward a well-lit one.
"In the closet!" The girl in the beanie barked, and I threw my hands up.
"Now." She hissed.
I, of course, obligingly settled down in the closet.
The girls stood on the outside, both gazing at me like I was some weird animal that required attention.
"Who are you?" The blonde asked.
"I'm Finley, I'm-"
"He's Scottish!" The red-head exclaimed, looking at the other one. My cheeks tinged pink.
"Yes, I am," I cut in, now conscious of my accent.
The blonde looked at the girl with glasses.
"We need to talk." She muttered.
They moved off the the other side of the room, talking and gesturing at each other.
I tried to listen, but was interrupted by a bark.
A dog hurtled toward me, it's caramel coat bushed out, as if to display it's excitement.
It jumped on top of me, trying to lick my face. I managed a smile; petting the dog to subdue it.
The girl with the glasses came back the closet, the other one now gone.
She settled beside me, her green eyes peering into my grey ones.
"I'm Charlie," She began, in a thick British accent.
"Finley." I reiterated.
She nodded. "Right. Finley. Look, MK's gotta go take care of some things, so I'll keep you company for now. You're obviously from Scotland. It's hard, being in a foreign country, huh?"
I nodded, petting the dog who had settled by me leg.
"Extremely." I murmured, feeling a pang of loss for the homeland I knew.
Charlie was silent and then she said quietly,"Look, I know this isn't a grand welcome. Not yet, anyways. But uh... we've never had a brother before. It's just been us gals forever. MK's just got to work out some things and try to figure out how to tell the others about you. Adi'd do it, but she's not home, and I don't think she was expecting you today."
"I know. My flight here was early."
Charlie and I were silent, and then she laughed quietly.
"Well Finley, I guess the first thing I should say to you is; Welcome to our crazy little family."
YAAAAAS. YOU ALL WERE TOTALLY RIGHT. IT WAS A BOY DOLL. WELL....
To be honest, Finley started out like this
I bought him for $50 off of Ebay, bought a Bavas International wig, and fixed him up. It was such an amazing experience; I was so excited that I forgot to take pictures of the process but oh well. :P
He's a Pleasant Company Molly, which is so cool to me, because he has these amazing grey eyes, and he's got the Pleasant Company stamp on the back of his neck. His limbs are fairly loose, but not drastic, and he can stand and bend a little bit without falling over. The listing pictures looked pretty good and were quite accurate, but Finley was quite dirty, so much the point that you could tell; there was dark grey spots on his arms and legs. But a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser fixed him all up. :)
I'm so excited to have Finley in the family, and there's a part 2 to this whole photo-story that'll be posted next week. To tide you over, here's some more pictures of the amazing gentleman. xD
